Visit to KelvinGrove Art Gallery

8th of January
We all went out to the art gallery looking for inspiration for our mosaic with recycled jewellery pieces.
Swords and birds  were extreemly interesting. Everyone had their books to take notes and photographs. In the cafe we had delicious cakes and mocha's and had lots of chat and idea charing. The armoury was the final stop  as we were running out of time. We were almost locked in the museum as everyones egerness to take in as much as we could meant we were last to leave with the metal gates being half closed as we left.
We then went on to a nice dinner  and lots off discussion about our year ahead.

EXCITING NEWS,   Some of our lovely members have been creating space in our friendly group by successfuly moving on to work or college. Well Done. Hope to see you dropping in now and then to share your experiences and to chat about how things are going.

If you or anyone you know would like to talk about joining the group and are:
Between 16-24 years old
Do not go out much
Not on a course
No job
PERFECT, give Margaret a ring or text on
0748 468 2764 and we can chat about it.

WECOMING THE SPRING in our community
" OUR GROUP "Bright flame"
Hi Welcome to our group Page:
we have been busy organising a Spring Fair at the Clyde Community Hall. It will be on the 31st of March between 1ish and 4 ish. It would be great if you could come along and help us celebrate the spring arriving.
We have the RSPB who will tell us how best to attract buterflies birds bees and hedgehogs to our gardens this year.
Their is an easter egg hunt for the children or the big kids wholike a piece of chocolate.
Afternoon tea: We will be serving afternoon tea which will include a sandwich, cake tea or coffee.
Their are a number of local crafters who handmake all of their own items which will be on sale.
The group and Iris will also have a table and we are hoping to sell a few of the items to help support the group going forward.
Everyone is getting very excited about it.

The First Few Months of our group

Our group started off very well and we have continued to grow in numbers as well as confidence whilst we have all learned skills from each other. We are doing very well in our weekly meetings at the Clyde Community Hall in Govan. our first member didnt see himself as a budiung Bracelet designer and maker but looking at the individualy design and made bracelet in the picture bellow I think you will agree he has done an outstanding job.

The young lady who took to the floor to figure out her weaving pattern which she then taught the rest of us also made a lovely pair of original earrings.

Today we were paracording our latest member taught us today and we also in turn helped a lady who attends another community group in the hall to learn the paracord weave as she is doing some bracelets for a cancer charity day. The pictures below show our results from today which was great fun.
